The Esther Benjamins Trust has grown to become the leading UK registered charity that focuses solely on improving the lives of Nepal’s most vulnerable children and young people.
What You Can Do
Sponsor a child
It costs over £50 per month to provide the compassionate residential refuge we offer children in our long-term care.
Through child sponsorship, you can help us to meet the cost of offering this to one of the 115 children currently in our permanent care – all of whom we are committed to supporting into adult life.

*
Full Sponsorship of £45 per month would cover the full care plan for one named child.
*
General Sponsorship at just £25 per month covers the daily care of a named child – food, accommodation, clothing, medical care and local support staff wages.
*
Education Sponsorship in the form of a donation of £15 per month meets education costs – including school uniforms, exercise books and a contribution towards the school bus which takes each child to school. It also enables us to utilise personal tutors to work with children who need a little extra help in their studies.
*
Recreation Sponsorship at £5 per month is designed purely to broaden the range of stimulating activities on offer to the children. This could contribute to a camping expedition, a trip to the cinema or even pay for a dance tutor.
Unlike other child sponsorship programmes, we have to offer residential care to these children as they are not able to live with their families. Nepal – in spite of its poverty – has soaring living costs precipitated by the recently-ended conflict which saw rent and land costs multiply.
100% of your monthly donation goes directly to the care of the child you are sponsoring in Nepal. Our administrative costs are met by unrestricted donations, and from tax we recover through Gift Aid.
If you would like to sponsor a child please email Nadia Kamel or telephone our office on: 020 7600 5654
Please note that we do not permit direct correspondence between children and sponsors; this is to avoid some children feeling neglected if they receive no letters. Also, for the same reason, any presents that sponsors may wish to send to their child should be suitable for use by all of the refuge children. (It is worth remembering that toys and presents can be purchased by our staff locally in Nepal on your behalf, saving transportation costs while stimulating the local economy.)
