Channels on Pledging for Change

Why would I want a channel?

Your channel is a place where people can gather and add relevant content and discussions around your chosen topic. A topic might be a general idea which is broad broad reaching eg. Permaculture", "Eco Travel" etc, " or it may be a more focussed idea eg "Eco Tourism in Glasgow" or "Asthma Care & Support in North of England".

Who might join a channel?

Members on Pledging for Change may join your channel especially if they are blogging or interested in the same niche area which is relevant to your channel. If your channel is broadly about "Permaculture" you may find several people who have an interest in this area because they are interested in a permaculture approach in their own garden or they have specific knowledge and perhaps run their own business which is interconnected with your theme/topic.

I am already blogging elsewhere so how would I find time to create and run a channel?

• You can feed your RSS into your channel from your blog. This means your channel will always be updated from your own blog with every post you make. Members in your channel on Pledging for Change will read your updates and may go and visit your blog from them

• You can also feed your channel back into your blog. Works both ways. Your blog gets updated as members of your channel make a post. (As you may or may not already know RSS feeds are a great way to keep content lively and updated and they are an asset to any site or blog)

• You can recieve emails everytime a channel member makes a new post or adds comments. This will help you oversee what's happening in your channel easily.
• 
  
• You could make a potentially substantial income from your channel and help lots more charities and sustainable business at the same time

Who else would see my channel?

Your channel as with any other content on Pledging for Change is fed by us into various places around the web. Currently it will be fed into Twitter,Ecademy and Facebook. All posts made will go directly into these other social/business network sites and are updated on the hour. We will also feature the most active and interesting channels in our eziine "Voices for Change"
