Cooking oil to fuel a car

I've often wondered if it is really true that people actually use cooking oil to fuel thier cars. I wouldnt like to try it myself as I can ill afford an engine overhaul if things do go wrong.

I did find a site though about a diesel truck that is running successfully on cooking oil . They do go onto mention that there is a kit available for such conversions.

Thanks Sue. Do me a favour. I didn't know there is a SEARCH section on the site. Where is it as all I see is the comments box. Give me directions where it be (good grammar there) and I will think highly of you :-) ---- Allan.

Hi Sue

PHASEworldwide is the charity. www.phaseworldwide.org but we're working on updates on the site right now.

I help with the web side of things and in getting people to fundraising events and dinners, I'll also be doing a half marathon this year, too. (This will be quite an achievement as I've not run in anger since my days as a Special Constable and that all stopped 10 years ago.

Tomorrow, I meet my maker in a murder mystery dinner event - sounds like it'll be great fun.

Do all the good you can, By all the means you can, In all the ways you can, In all the places you can, At all the times you can, To all the people you can, As long as ever you can. -- John Wesley, "Letters of John Wesley"

Each time a man stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope, and crossing each other from a million different centres of energy and daring, those ripples build a current that can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression and resistance. -- Robert F. Kennedy
