Sarah Barnard Want a freebie?

I have sitting on my desk an Indigo Essences Sleep Easy candle in need of a home. Would you like it? Then place an order over £10 with Ethics Trading and tell me you want it in the order comments space. I’ll pop the candle into the next order that meets those criteria. Simple as that. Will it be you? Continue

Sarah Barnard Online shopping

I’ve used a few different shopping systems on Ethics Trading, from the simplest paypal buttons through to the fully integrated cubecart. I like the full systems with all the bells and whistles on, but they tend to be a bit clunky for customers, especially at the part where you have to register and some even make you wait while your registration is verified before you can buy anything. So, although the various free, straight out of the box,… Continue

Sarah Barnard Squidoo

Anyone else found squidoo yet? I discovered it as a networking, information based site about a year or so ago and I really didn’t like it. It was slow, not intuitive and the help pages were no help at all. So I abandoned my account and ignored it. Until now. This week I’ve revisited Squidoo and updated some of my pages on there – Squidoo calls them lenses. You can see them here: http://www.squidoo.com/lensmasters/SarahBaContinue

Sarah Barnard Fighting infections, the season of cold and flu...

The advice to help protect us against swine flu and against all infections actually, is to cough/sneeze into a paper tissue and chuck it in the bin. Then wash your hands as soon as you possibly can. Now, I’d disagree with the paper tissue thing and I’d say use a reusable cloth hankie and then wash it hot with a few drops of… Continue

I’ve been using an off the shelf website building bit of software that I’ve had for years. It has a neat little gadget that lets you embed a dynamic nav bar that updates automatically and it’s been dead useful to use that. But I’ve had problems with it working properly and I can’t use my own images with it…. On one of my sites, Sarah Barnard, the gadget broke and refused to consistently work and I’d been doing some work on a friend’s site where she’s mad… Continue

Do all the good you can, By all the means you can, In all the ways you can, In all the places you can, At all the times you can, To all the people you can, As long as ever you can. -- John Wesley, "Letters of John Wesley"

Each time a man stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope, and crossing each other from a million different centres of energy and daring, those ripples build a current that can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression and resistance. -- Robert F. Kennedy
