I have just been down to the River Dee here in Chester for my usual daily walk with my dogs, and I am absolutely saddened by this mindless destruction of natural habitat that councils and authorities (in this case I'm told it is the Rivers Authority) who decide its in the best interest not only to keep the public path neatly mowed but the whole of the embankment 30 metre wide.
Only 3 days ago I was admiring the delicate wildflowers and enjoying watching the butterflies and other insects sharing and creating our world.
But today it is all gone! Not a wildflower insight ....just a pile of grass cuttings and many plastic drinks bottles and other rubbish (now revealed) left there by uncaring persons.
The little old guy who totters along the embankment and pathways regularly with his insect net,and reporting to the local walkers about decline or rise of specific population will be devastated by this totally destructive act.
Shame on you Rivers Authority and councils for allowing these things to continue.
